Nhl lock out!!!

Anyone else annoyed? How can they not get their crap together honestly! The NHL cannot afford another 05' lock out. Hopefully I can find fellow hockey fans through this thread!

I am a hell of a lot more than annoyed!!! With all of the problems in this world I find it extremely hard to side with either the billionaire owners or the multi-millionaire players. These are grown men who get paid handsomely to participate in a GAME. I wish I could find it in my heart to stop watching and hurt them where it matters....in their pockets...but I am too much of a hockey fan to do so. I am addicted.....lol.

It's pretty pathetic, in my opinion, that a bunch of billionaires want a larger chunk of money from a bunch of millionaires, who all have their salaries paid by people that will in all likely-hood never see a million dollars in their lifetime. And for what? Now you're going to lose an entire season and nobody is going to make any money. And this was after years of increased fan-fare and ticket sales that you're going to screw things up like this? Really? And you mean to tell me we couldn't have started talking about this at the beginning of the off-season instead of waiting until one friggin' week before the CBA expired? And then, top it all off, in the little letter to the fans that NHL.com wrote up, they didn't even allow replies to the post. Just shows you that they're not going to own up to it. They don't respect the fans and they don't want the criticism. Oh sure, they'll thank the best fans on the planet after they win the Cup, but hey, screw us if it's not convenient for them to earn less than 2.4million on average per player. Absolutely ridiculous, sick and pathetic.

I don't see why they think they need a lock out. Their grown men, not little princesses like in the NBA. I hope for a speedy, MLB resolution to this.

I love hockey. Huge Wings fan here. But we get what we deserve. As long as people keep coming back then they will keep doing it to the fans.

You forget that the corporatations with their suites have already paid for their space. When the season does start, even if its next year, they'll be right there giving their suites out to the clients. And clearly people with the means to be season ticket holders, will show up when the doors open because to many of them, its just a place to be seen. Just watch the dolled up women sitting there on the glass, texting through the whole game. The real fans, (like crack addicts trying to score a rock) that we are, can't make it without a hockey fix unless there is a lockout and were forced to. Then we just sit in the corner with the shakes and pray for it to end. And when it does, we always go back like the good little b's.

Bettman only cares about himself and the owner's. The players only care about themselves and their contract, (see Evgeni Malkin already booked to the KHL). All that matters is money. What did you expect?

I'm just mad cause I can't watch my new revamped Wild team... Guess i'll have to wait longer to watch Suter and Parise =( Only positive for me is more Golden Gopher hockey games will be televised!!! Its just crazy watching all these owners sign these huge contracts then complain they aren't getting enough money! It's crazy!

That's why I mostly stick to College hockey. But the NHL honestly has the perfect set up right now. The league is so even right now on and to lock out this year is absurd. What's cool for me is I watched an open practice near me two days ago that was pretty much an all star game list of players there
