Replacement Refs Need To Go!

I never thought it would be this big a deal but these replacement refs are terrible and need to go! The NFL just needs to agree to whatever the real refs want and get things going.

Even though my team won last night, the officiating was the worst I have ever seen. It took 1 hour to get through the first quarter, there were phantom calls, and penalties incorrectly enforced. The game should have ended 1130 at the latest but I was up to midnight watching.

I have such a greater appreciation for the real refs now.

I could not agree more. Im usually the one arguing that they suck and called a penalty that wasnt there: i.e. pass interference or roughing the passer, but these refs dont call ANYTHING unless its like in the endzone. You have db's molesting recievers 25yds down the field and nothing is getting called. This really benefits teams like the Jets that are known for playing "aggressively" but really isnt fair to alot of teams. Id like to see a replay of the penalties that got called in the pats game this week to see what caused us to lose the game. We had a game winning touchdown called back and then when we went to kick the field goal there was another penalty that pushed them back even further and gostowski missed it i guess.

Anyways, yea, these refs really suck.

It's crazy they don't pay them more with the insane amounts of money the NFL makes yearly. To offer them only 20,000 a year is crazy, obviously they are effecting outcomes of games. Just pay the guys!

You must be talking about the interim refs. The real refs make $180K a year. And its only a part time job lol.

Couldn't agree more, Monday Night Football was borderline unwatchable with all the phantom calls and mistakes. And I don't even hold the replacement refs responsible, as these are guys who have never even referee'd a college game (the backups and rookies are on strike too) and are being asked to play in the big leagues with players who are taking advantage of it.

Just a mess, resolve the strike and get the season back on track

I thought the replacement refs did a decent job considering the circumstances. I haven't seen a major call missed in any of the Vikings games I have watched. I haven't really watched any other games tho. The coaches and players would have been all too aware of how inexperienced these guys were and no doubt tried to take advantage of that. But in the main, I thought they were okay.Having said that, it would probably be better if the whole thing was settled and the usual refs were reinstated. The longer this continues, the more likely a bad situation arises on the field due to a controversial call. Ya i misunderstood what I read the replacements are make around 2k a game. Annually the Regular refs make around 109k on average.

The regulars made bad calls every week but they were regulars. These guys are making bad calls, missing calls, giving extra time outs extra 2 minute warnings. I'd happily go back to just a few bad calls per game. Unfortunately even having the regular refs back wouldn't help my Titans. Wish they could fire the owner, that would help.

Yea i mean at least when i shouted at them throught the tv they would try and throw a penalty in my teams favor later on. Its like these replacement refs are ignoring all my yelling and cussing!

It begins with the refs, but the teams need to make a step up. Romo leads the Cowboys through the defending super bowl champs, then chomps it to the Seahawks? I'm more up tight about my team choking than the refs right now but I agree. There's a line between roughing the passer and good defense, it was obviously crossed and not called in several games.
