Taming the beast
I recently rescued an adult retic in horrible shape being smashed into a 55 gallon tank. She has now eaten and is now doing well. My problem is this giant has a nasty attitude and id like to calm her without getting some nasty battle wounds. Any tips?

I would say a good, BIG snake hook is your best friend! Whether you get bit or not depends on how fast you are and how well you learn to "read" her. Handling is the only possible way of getting her to calm down really, and there arent any guarantees she ever will! No fear, confidence and common sense! Oh, and depending on how big she is, make sure someone else is around!

I would start by just petting her with a hook, and working her up from there. just be careful...don't push her when she isn't comfy, cause she's more deadly than you ;D
Mine's bigger.

She is 16 foot long and she's also the type of snake that hisses at your presence and strikes at the snake hook so I got a lot of work ahead of me
