    Black Pastel Champagne

Anybody seen one of these in person or know who this fine creature here belongs to? Jeff Luman Reptiles?

I just think that's really cool. The first picture almost looks albino-orange in a few spots. Does the color really change that dramatically, from orange-pink to grey-black over time?

Since it was his picture and he has similar snakes on his site I would assume so.

    Re: Black Pastel Champagne

If anyone is interested, got this reply from Jeff Luman.

And if this is considered wrong in the snake biz to post his e-mail reply, someone please let me know. I just assume he'd probably like getting his name mentioned along with some free promotion. Anyway, here's the message I got.....

"The pictures on the World of Ball Pythons site are of two different animals - they are siblings but they are quite different in color. So far with the black pastel champagnes I have seen a mix of the darker/brown and the lighter/orange produced. Almost all of the black pastel champagnes that I have seen are ringers. It's fairly common in champagnes, and the black pastel seems to help bring it out. I have a larger 2011 male black pastel champagne available for $3200; hathclings will run less of course."
