Feeding in enclosure?
Ok just to start I do not want to start a closure or feeding tub debate seeing as there are already enough of those....that being said how exactly do you go about feeding your BP in its enclosure? I only have one other snake (RTB) and I got her from a pet store and was convinced to feed her in a feeding tub but I do not want to do this with my BP. I don't exactly know how to go about it though seeing as I feed F/T and he is almost always in his hide.....should I lift his hide or dangle it in front of the opening and try to get him to come out? Ive never done this before so any help is much appreciated!!

Depends on the snake... Many of mine comes out of their hide to feed, but some I have to lift the hide and dangle... I even have one snake I have to lay the F/T on him and then lay the hide over to get him to eat....
I'm not into a feeding tub, many of them get stressed, curios and everything else then looking for food so I'm feeding all my snakes in their tubs and I've not have any trouble with it...
It's all about genetics ..

I used to use a blow dryer to sent the room and now all I have to do is switch it on and my girl will come out and be ready to eat. also if she feels like staying at home I just dangle the f/t rat in front of the hides hole.

I also pre-scent and blow dry. Most of mine come out of their hides and start sniffing around right away, then strike the prey off the tongs as soon as it's offered. One just pokes her head out, so I leave the prey at her doorway and she takes it inside.

If you pre-scent, as stated above, they will almost always poke their nose out of the hide until you offer. The only times mine don't is if I feed at a strange time of day or if they're not hungry.

I agree with the above posts. I thaw my f/t prey, take it into the snake room and blow dry it, aiming the dryer in the direction of the racks. Mine are so used to associating that sound with food, they'll poke their heads out for a peek even if I'm just drying my hair in the bathroom. { My snake room is my bedroom}. Usually, once the scent of warm rat or mouse begins to swirl around the tub/tank, he'll come out for a look pretty quick. But, if it takes him a few feedings to get into the habit, it is perfectly fine to gently lift the hide off and out. That is what I did until the snakes got used to the sounds/smells of feeding day.
If you have worries about bedding, and some people do, I just quietly lay down a scrap of paper or posterboard before I scent the room. Then offer over that.

My adult-ish corn snakes sit there with their heads out of the hide for the most part. So they are ready to eat ALL the time. Lol If they aren't out, I lift the hide up and make sure they are awake, then dangle the p/k mouse in front of the hide. I draw them out of the hide a little bit more, then give it to them. I don't like them thrashing into their hides. They are really curious anyways, so when I open their tubs they usually come out to investigate.

Thanks for all the information!! Definitely gonna use the blowdryer trick....also, how do you all thaw the mice do you let them sit in the fridge? I normally take them straight from the freezer and put them In a hot bowl of water (in a plastic bag of course).....what do you do?

I don't scent or do anything special. I just remove the lid and dangle it from tongs. If she is not already hanging her head out of her hide she comes out quickly and goes to work. She is a great eater.

I do live and p/k, and my snakes I swear, know when its feed day, and they are usually hanging out of their hides. So all I have to do is drop them in and slide the tub back in. For those that will take the p/k, if they aren't hanging their heads out, I just leave it at the front door (entrance to hide).
