So now I've watched 2 seasons of Baka and Test. Such an addictive show. Apparently there is a season 3 but it hasn't be subbed anywhere yet that I could find.
11 more episodes of Ranma and I am done with the show. I also recently found the dubbed version. I can't stand it. Worst voice acting since the infamous DBZ Big Green Dub. So I''ll stick to the Japanese.
Started watching Rorouni Kenshin again. Haven't in about 10 years. It's a show I prefer in English. I hate Kenshin's Japanese voice. Sounds like a girl. I don't like it when a show's male protagonist sounds like a girl.
I am recognizing more Japanese words as my vocabulary grows. One thing I've picked up on but don't understand yet is that people with refer to people not related to them as relatives. It seems every old man is called "Gramps" or "Grandfather" even though there is no relation. And close friends will call each other "Brother" or "Sister." At first I thought it was a joke or just slang but in the context it seems that those titles are given to the people out of respect more than anything else.
The cultural journey continues....
