    invert mites to bp??

My emperor scorpion colony has had an outbreak of small round brownish mites that have attached themselves to the scorpions. The colony is in my walk in closet just on the other side of the wall my ball python is located.

    My question is:

Do the same mites that attack invertebraes attack ball pythons and other snakes?

Right now my bp and her enclosure are clean of mites.

    Thanks,
    Mark

I believe mites are species specific...I don't believe invert mites will affect reptiles.

No. Snake mites are species specific and only affect snakes.

But it won't hurt to treat your snake enclosure for mites anyway.

    Question

    Phew!!(wipes sweat from brow)

Thanks peoples. I was worried there. Now for the long tedious war against emperor mites. Paper towels and manual mite picking I will prevail!!!!!
