    Small Meal for our Pet..

So the day before yesterday we fed our snake an 7 gram Fuzzy mouse.. Today we weighed her and she is 95 grams herself. So the meal should have been twice that size using the 15% method.

Should we feed her another single Fuzzy again or wait and feed her 2 next week? It has been roughly 40 hrs since she has eaten.

I have about 30 Fuzzies in my freezer so I hope she doesn't mind having 2 mice in a single feeding for awhile. That is what the vendor was doing, but he was putting her in a paper bag with two Fuzzies overnight.

Fuzzy mice are not BP food that's the problem, your average hatchling BP eats a hopper mouse or crawler rat as it's first meal and quickly move to something bigger.

At 95 grams your BP can take down a small adult mouse without any problem once every 5 to 7 days, fuzzies are just not gonna cut it for a BP.

Yes fuzzies are much too small of food for her. BUT I understand the frustration of having all those mice and not knowing what to do with them. You have two choices. Offer your girl three at a time until they are gone and HOPE she eats them. Or, you can offer them on Craigslist and use the funds to buy bigger prey.

I fed Avalon today, she took all three 6-7 gram fuzzies down. She almost looked like she was looking for more, but that would have been way over the 15% rule.. She's 95 grams, so a meal is suppose to be about 15 grams. Since she has only eaten one 7 gram fuzzy in two weeks I didn't think the extra grams would hurt her.. I figure this meal was about 18-21 grams total.. I have the scale just didn't weigh them.

Another thing I moved her to a Sterilite tub to feed her in.. She didn't mind a bit.. I used this time to clean her cage as she was swallowing. Worked out well.
