    My first ball babies!

This season I bred my honeybee to a friend's possible het ghost. We got 5 eggs to split, 1 turned out to be a slug, but of the rest we got 0.2 spider het ghosts and 1.1 het ghosts. Looks like his female is not a het, but it could have been bad odds. Either I am way excited to have these guys shed! These are my first ball pythons I have produced and cant wait til the rest of my girls produce some clutches! I will post pics once they shed, the spider looks like she should have some great high white on her!

How do you split the babies ?!?! My friend wanted to mate my bumblebee with his normals. Say we got 1 bumblebee, 1 spider, 2 pastels and 1 normal. How would we split them???

Both of you set up a incubator and when the eggs are laid go half and half. If its un even number of eggs the person who has the female gets the extra egg. That way there is no fighting for who gets what when they are hatched. Let the odd gods take their course and what ever hatches in the eggs you took is what you get.

We basically just took turns picking snakes. Starting with the 2 snakes going into the breeding, we chose which was considered to be the more valuable of the 2, that decided who got first pick. So of course the first 2 snakes to go were the 0.2 spider hets, then beng my turn again, I opted for the female het ghost. I would suggest you do something similar if you bred those snakes, your bumblebee of course would be the more valued snake, so you should get first pick in both clutches. Of course taking gender into consideration you may have to get fancy... say the only bumblebee that pops out is a male, seeing as how that snake wouldn't enhance your collection, i would tell him to keep the bumblebee but let you take 2 pastels and a spider or something like that. Ultimately it is up to you and your friend. This next year I should be breeding my fire male to my buddy's pastel, ill have to take 2nd pick, so i am hoping for 2 fireflies!

I actually let my buddy incubate all the eggs and when they hatched, that is when we picked. Of course we decided upon this method before the breeding season.

Thanks! Yeah he was pretty bummed that she didn't prove out. Especially after 3 years of getting her up to size. He may trade my hatchling het ghost female for her, in which case I will put my honeybee with her again, just to make sure, and if she does prove out, ill just give him a ghost female.
