No luck breeding
So, I've had a male in with a female for almost a month now and no babies...room temp is about 75 and there's always fold and water. Any tips?

not sure your experience, or level. Mine is zero. However, just from what I've read on here, sometimes...they just don't want to.

Re: No luck breeding
Need to give it more time. Some are slower then others. I'm new to breeding I started about 2 months ago, and I got 2 males and 2 females breeder rats. it took about a month and a half for mine to start showing and birthing.

After breeding it takes about 23 days for them to have babies and it does not mean when you put them together they starting breeding right away. i would give it some more time, How old are they? they might be too young or old.

Males need to be at least 500 grms to breed,
and females need to be 1500 grms.
All you are doing, is putting unnecessary stress on them.

This thread is listed under breeding rats, I think you were giving info for the OP if he were trying to breed snakes at that age/weight. . . .

Re: No luck breeding
I was having trouble breeding my rats. I was doing back scratches; I read some where that was to stimulate the rats. I introduced males in rotations. I have 3 males, and six females. Nothing for a long time. Now I have 41 rats in total, and two more girls that have not popped yet. Just be patience. It will happen as long as your guys are fertile. One of my male was a true albino; even though he liked the bow chicky wow wow. He was shooting nothing but blanks.

I have no tips for you.
Just a big fan of your screen name. A HUGE fan. Thought I'd pop in and offer that up.

Re: No luck breeding
Maybe she wanted a fancy dinner first?
But seriously. If he's 6 months old, and at least as big as she is I guarantee you he's getting the work done. I started out with a 1.1 and got nowhere. Turns out my female was larger than my male, and bit him every time he tried. Wound up getting rid of her grabbing 5 more females, and about 1.5-2 months later I had a few litters. Now my guy has a nice little harem and no production issues. I would recommend watching your rats behavior and make sure she isnt dominating HIM, and maybe get another female or two just to hedge your bets if it isnt working out with this lady. If none of that really applies, then liek everyone else said all it takes is time = P
