Most adults will retain some of the semi-arboreal nature, but not too often. Cage width and depth is usually more geared toward when dealing with adult carpets. Jungle carpets stay pretty aboreal in adulthood. Coastals will generally stop climbing once adults. I have never had personal experience with diamonds or ij's so i am not completly sure what they are like, but I have heard of people with ij's that climb there whole lives and some that stop.
