Wow......the ups and downs of breeding
I have been reading through some of the threads in this particular forum. I hope to breed in a few years and this forum has taught me so much already. I will not jump into this head first after everything I have seen and read. I guess breeding can be both joyful and heartbreaking at the same time. I have vowed not to do this until I have learned and researched every aspect of bp breeding.

Re: Wow......the ups and downs of breeding
It's definitely a learning process. I lost my first clutch last year, but am on the verge of my first successful hatching within the next few days (fingers crossed) . Now comes the next stage of breeding for me: successfully getting the hatchlings well established.

You can know a lot and still have issues, we are dealing with live animals and there will be heart breaks, it's just to be expected.
I've had around 30 clutches in the last 3 years with a couple going very badly, but most have been pure joy start to finish.

There are some things that you're not going to be able to learn by reading you're just going to have to do it and learn from your mistakes. Things like how to mix your incubating substrate, or how to get babies eating..
