So my two original ball pythons were VERY VERY picky eaters, it took me 6 months to get them to eat on their own weekly. My husbandry was spot on but they just wouldn't eat and withered away to 48ish grams a piece. Well it's been well over a year since I got them and they are now 300-350 grams. Well I was feeding my frozen eaters (which these girls are not, have been wanting to switch them over but been way to scared to do so) anyway I had two left over rat fuzzies so I thought hmm they haven't eaten yet let me try them. So, Kira was the first one I tried and she struck and coiled it as soon as it entered the tank, SCORE! So, then I went to Aurora, who showed tons of interest at first but after an hour she didn't take itSo I went back to check on Kira, and the rat fuzzy was gone, now mind you she has never eaten a f/t or a rat for that matter! I thought "hmmm that was kinda small let me try this second so it doesn't go to waste." And she struck and took that one as well. I am so excited right now, the fact that one took TWO f/t rats without problem and the other showed tons of interest. I am hopefully that I will be able to switch at least Kira over to f/t rats and Aurora I don't think will be far behind her! Now to get my silly rescue to take a rat, but that's a completely different story. (He is 3.5' and his last owner only fed him one adult mouse weekly)
