Where do you guys find all those big normal girls?
I have been stalking craigslist for months. The only thing I have found so far that looks promising (besides the one I went to see the other night, but too small) is 4 hours away from me in a different state.

I would check fauna or kingsnake.com or any of the bigger breeders. Most of them are usually selling a few proven breeder normal girls.

My three were from two breeders I know (already breeding size or proven breeders).

The best time to find big normal females is early in the year, around April or May. Most breeders put their normals up for sale right after laying eggs in the early spring, because the females will be replaced by morph girls.
The second best time is in September and October. Then people looking to make some money for that morph male they suddenly decided they have to have for the breeding season will let a few normal females go, knowing they can get the highest prices because people just getting started are desperate to get their hands on a breeding size female.
The best place to find these girls are on Fauna and Kingsnake classifieds. After that stalk the reptile shows. Craigslist is a long shot at best, the decent females are few and far between, usually mis-sexed, and half of the ones you do find that actually ARE females are neglected and sick and not in any condition to have eggs.

I'm guessing they grow 'em.

When I first started I bought a few normals that I raised up and last year I started letting some go as they were being replaced with single or multiple gene females.
So breeder size/proven breeder girl are out there however they generally don't stay available very long.

Re: Where do you guys find all those big normal girls?
Well,if you lived in Missouri,I could recommend you to a place where I got my young BP girls. They just got about 4 normal BP's in,that are at least 2.5-3 feet in length! If I would have went there the day before I got Juno,I would have taken one of those beauties home.(Speaking of which,Juno is out roaming again, shes probably hungry, but is in shed so gunna have to wait) And those of you who didn't read my thread. Juno is my newest addition,my 720 gram girl with 1 eye,but shes doing absolutely amazing.
