    What mouse/rat ?

Being our 1st snake, I just bought whatever the vendor said he was feeding her without looking at them. Anyways, they look small and white.. I weighed one of the little guys and its only 6 grams. I haven't weighed the snake yet, but she is a 2 month old Normal BP. What are these little mice? Rat pups. Hopper mouse..etc ?

    Just found it here http://www.reptileforums.co.uk/forum...omparison.html

Looks like a large Mouse Fuzzy or a small hopper mouse.

It's probably a mouse hopper. Try to get a gram scale (you can buy them at Walmart) and weigh your snake. You should be feeding 10-15% of their body weight. 6g is probably too small for a 2 1/2 month old. Also, try to switch to rats as soon as possible. It's much easier to do when they are younger

Yeah, we have one of those. $10 delivered from E-Bay.. It's "El-Cheapo" but it works..That's how I weighed the mouse. I just didn't want to handle the snake yet, we just got her last Saturday.

That's probably smart to not be handling her. You can always feed her a smaller meal until you feel comfortable handling her, or you can just take her out for a quick weigh.

Yeah, it's probably to soon to try and feed her too, but we wanted to try. She has sniffed it, laid her head on it, and curled around it.. But still hasn't eaten it? We'll leave the mouse in there till tomorrow and see if she eats it over night. If not I'll just pitch that one and try again in 3 or 4 days.

I'm in the same boat with my new spider. She ate once for me but hasn't wanted to since. I've left the rat in there overnight to see if she'll eat it.

I'm feeding her F/T .. well TRYING...LOL.. Like I said this is our 1st snake so I'm just guessing, but she's probably stressed out still.. I guess the Vendor had a 2 1/2 hour drive to the show. He kept each snake in a little Sour Cream sized container.. Then we had another 45 minutes back home in the same container, Not counting how long she was in a big clear display case and handled god only knows how many times by how many people.

She did Pee today though... Uriates or whatever.. Little whitish looking droppings.
