I have actually had rocks in my other bp cage for almost a year with no issues. They actually make great hides. Both seem to love them. I make sure they are secure first of course.

Not to be rude, but just because something has been ok for awhile doesn't mean its good. Not ideal for hides either. Bps like very secure hides, a pile of rocks is not ideal.
