Where to buy ball pythons on line
I think, unless I have missed it here somewhere, we should get a list of web sites that are very reputable and make a sticky out of it for people looking to buy new babies or even proven breeders. Would make it so easy and HOPEFULLY knock back those questions unless its asking which one is better lol
Ball Python
0.2 Normals (Coilette and Mary Jane)
1.0 Spider (Zues)
1.0 Pastel (De Sol)
Boa Constrictors
0.1 Brazilian Rainbow Boa (Stella)
0.1 BCI Hog Island (Kiyoko)
0.1 Dumerils Boa (Gloria)
1.1 Yellow Anaconda (Serenity and Diablo)
0.1 Albino Common Northern Boa BCI (Pandora)

I like the idea of having a black book, so to speak of good breeders.

Isn't that kind of what the BOI is for as well as the Inquiries/Feedback section of this forum? Not knocking your idea but I'm not sure it will fly; you'd essentially be giving free advertising to people/companies and what would you base your reviews/recommendations on? And how would you go about determining who is a "good" seller/breeder versus who isn't? It would be hard to quantify something that's as subjective as that, as it's really entirely up to people's perceptions and interpretations. I don't know, just my two cents. Run it up the flagpole and see who salutes; can't hurt to try, I guess.

Its not really about whos better, its about who actually sends you what you order. As long as they are good for it, then it can be on the list. And there is much more than just breeders on here, advertisement wise, so they would be fine!!! And, if you think its taht bad, just post the HTML ads on the sticky so they still get credit when they click it? It's simple stuff to do really lol.

Here is the problem with such a list, who defines who should be on the list? While someone has a great experience with a seller someone else may not, so where does the seller stands on that list.
There are tons of great breeders out there small and bigs and they can easily be found simply using google, KS, BP.net, Fauna or even word of mouth (for the one that may not have a strong online presence) once you have a few of those names simply run them through the BOI to make YOUR own opinion regarding a specific seller.

Re: Where to buy ball pythons on line
In addition to Deb's excellent point, I'd also like to remind folks that stickied threads do NOT stop people from asking the same questions over and over again. We may never know how many people actually USE the FAQ stickies to learn what 1.1 means, for instance, but we still see that question posed over and over again, just as often as we had before creating the FAQ pages.
A stickied thread that listed "good breeders" would be a constant maintenance drain with folks demanding that we add so-n-so to the list...folks suddenly bailing from the biz and selling off their collections...and constant arguments about who should and should not be on such a list.
It's SO easy to find good breeders. Anyone doing basic research on how to care for the new pet they want should be able to figure out how to find reputable breeders to buy from. And if someone is simply too lacking in the brains department to figure out how to find that information, or simply too lazy to look for it...I'm not inclined to spoon-feed it to them so that they can go out and buy a living creature that they are not smart enough or too lazy to take care of.

Fauna & kingsnake.
That's pretty much all you need to know.
You have your private breeders with a full BOI to confirm you are dealing with a quality person and there are enough "Big Breeders" on there advertising. I'm not knocking the idea either but I just summed it up in 2 sentences. Lol
7.5 Ball Pythons
0.1 Leopard Gecko
1.1 Cats
0.1 Chocolate Lab
1.0 Lab/Pit Mix
0.1 Wife (LOL)
1.0 Kids
