Do you know how many times I have people come into work and tell me I'm crazy for having a 16 foot python in my living room. When I volunteer to use him in demonstrations- people tell me he's going to eat children. Do you know how hard people like me work to show the general public that most of the claims about reptiles being mean/biting are based on nothing but ignorance and mental retardation.
Fact is, I've been bitten by more corn snakes and ball pythons than I have any other type of snake. I've lost more blood to corns and balls than anything else. You can make your choices, respect my right to call your choices ignorant, stupid, and frankly- you should stay away from this hobby as you do nothing but promote negative thinking about these animals that some of us work so hard to give a better reputation.
Yes, I do believe you should not keep animals. You do nothing but give them a bad reputation. I could see you on animal planet advocating stricter laws and telling people in the pet shop "man, get a ball python cuz that blood might bite you!". Also, yes- I do trust my 16' male tiger retic over most corn snakes I've been around. He's docile, doesn't give a damn about anything, and is incredibly docile. He's never snapped at me, never given me fits- even when I'm holding him taking off a stuck eye cap or checking his mouth. Even when I smell like rabbit, he never gives me grief.
I don't care if you don't want to keep the same species as me. I care about your ignorance and negativity to the hobby. You're tacky.
