NARBC Pick-Ups...and an interesting story....and a question about thermostats

OMG. My first expo was the NARBC in Arlington today! I had an absolute blast. I was very good and brought cash only and did not even bring in my credit/debit card so I wouldn't spend more than I had. I had the intention of picking up a spider female and an anery motley het amel corn snake.

My first purchase was what I believe to be a Miami phase corn snake. She was sold to me as a male, but when I got home and popped and probed her, she is definitely a female! My mother (who HATES snakes) convinced me to buy her. I won't breed her unless I get another Miami phase male since they tend to wash out colors in their offspring. She is mainly just a pet. She doesn't have a name yet, but here she is:

I also picked up an anery motley het amel corn snake boy. He is going to be paired with my snow motley and my bloodred (to try and prove out her PH amel). I've been having this hunch that my snow motley was a female but I didn't have a small enough probe to sex her with. I bought one today at the expo and sure enough, she's a female! Her name has been Severus, but I might change it to Tonks...we'll see. Anyway, the male anery I bought (I've named him Travis) will be bred to my girls when they are all old enough. Here he is:

And finally...the main reason I went to the expo: a spider female. I have named her Charlotte because of Charlotte's Web (Charlotte was the spider). She will be the mother of my future bees/killerbees. She's a small 59g right now but I hope to see her gaining weight very quickly! Here she is:

All my new babies have been situated in their new quarantine room. I will also be getting me a new thermostat for in there. Right now she's on a hydrofome and the corns on on a dimer until I can get my new thermostat in. Which would yall recommend? Ideally, I would love one that can hold two different temperatures.

I thought boas had cute mustaches, but that one is awesomely cute...

The only multi-zone thermostats that I know of are:

    -Herpstat 2
    -Herpstat 4
    -Vivarium Electronics 300X2

I picked up a Male Pewter from Brian at BHB. He gave me an almost 25% price cut on him!

Glad you had fun! I was there Saturday with my GF. We made the drive up from Houston...left at 5am to gas up and get breakfast and get up there before the doors opened...and then made the trip back leaving shortly before they closed the doors.

Um...not trying to be a jerk here but she can't ever be a mother to a killer bee. She can mother a bumblebee no proba but in order to make killers, both parents need to have the pastel gene in them. Lovely spider tho.

He's gorgeous! I got miss Charlot from Mark Baily. There was a tie between her and another one. The only was a little bit brighter, but when I got the price on her, she was exactly in my budget! Most spider females her age were going for $200-$250 and I got her for $150. I was very happy with her! I may be new to ball python morphs and how each one is supposed to look, but I liked how she looked. The breeder also said she has virtually no wobble and eats like a champ. How could I say no?

When I was talking with Sam from BHB, I alsmost got talked into another corn...but I convinced myself otherwise. I almost bought a t-shirt from them...but they didn't have my size. I'll just order one when they get their new shipment in xD

We drove up from Houston too. However, we went up last night to spend the evening with my sister who goes to UNT. We got up this morning and were there when they opened and we left around 2 or so.

My spider is also named Charlotte! Lol. Stunning spider you picked up! She is really nice looking. Clean pattern, minimal spots, cute moustache!

Very nice pickups! I am saving up a big chunk of change to blow at NARBC Tinley in October.
