thanks, I borrowed one temporarily from my other BP, it doesn't get that hot, I think something's wrong with it but besides the point, I put a thin hand towel on top of it aand then put container above it. I think for one night it should be ok, the heat let the humidity rise which is what I wanted. Tomorrow I'll get what I need so it's all properly regulated.

Great, thanks for the links. I know he shouldn't of given it to us yet, my husband knows nothing about BPs he thought he was doing something good. I guess it'll be a learning experience for me and I hope all turns out well. He looks healthy and is moving around but I don't know enough about BPs to judge that myself.
