I think she meant rat poison was poisonous and is a reason not to feed escaped/wild mice.

Let's say your mouse got out of its cage and ate some poison before you found it. If you fed that mouse, it would kill your snake.

If these mice are sick from myco, I wouldn't be worried too much about feeding them off.
