I remember my Dad explaining to one of his friends that our age difference was of biblical proportions.
I wouldn't recommend that big an age difference (essentially a whole generation) to the vast majority of the population because it's so easy to end up having nothing in common and most people (women or men) have a lot of growing up to do in their early 20s. Kind of freaky to think about but my husband was getting married for the first time 3 days after I was born. I get a kick out of looking at his wedding pics, and he gets all kinds of kudos from his friends for having been able to bag a younger woman, lol
What makes it work for us, I think, is that I've always been way older than my age and we see the world in such a similar way. From politics to religion and the importance of family, we agree on all the usual hot buttons and we don't get nasty when we argue. Helps that I'm not a high maintenance woman, I don't play games and I'm not afraid of getting my hands dirty! I always had guy friends rather than girl friends growing up, so I like to think I 'get' men a little better than most
Exceptional relationships can exist in some strange circumstances. Congrats on your happy marriage and may you have many more such years![]()
