    More Possible Egg Trouble

Is it possible for eggs to make it full term even if no snake is developing inside? My first clutch looks like there is nothing inside yet the eggs are still healthy. Saturday will be day 52 and as of now they look empty.

I noticed that when candled at day 48 or so that there didn't look to be too much going on in there. Then at day 54 this happend

All you are looking for when candled is a shadow along the bottom of the egg. And if you have a small LED flashlight, hold it in the eggs and look for movement. I'm not sure about the full term question, but I myself had doubts. Turns out it was all for not. Good luck!

What you described is exactly what I have. A black shadow on the bottom, but being so close to hatching time, you would think you could see a body or something.

I would say ur fine. I think the egg goo may bounce the light around weird in the egg, making it look empty. But as you can see, all 5 of mine hatched. So just be patient is all I can offer as far as advise. And good luck!

I could but I don't want to keep messing with the eggs. I candled some eggs from a clutch we cut today and the uncut eggs looked the same as mine. So I think I'm fine.

    Thanks for the help guys!

I had the same worry. I had a small shadow on the bottom of the egg at day 53. They hatched out fat healthy babies at day 56. Your fine.

    Re: More Possible Egg Trouble

those eggs are most likely fine. if they were bad, not only will they begin to mold quickly, but you would also smell it. no mistaken when they die it also smells like they died. I had eggs this year that I candled right after they were laid. no veins to speak of and within a few days, i started seeing the growth of veins. never discard an egg until you're completely sure.
