You could put the table on an area rug, run the cords underneath it, and up through a hole in the rug, under the table...

You know, I don't know how big of a battery you'd need, but Flexwatt doesn't really require too much wattage - why couldn't you run it off of a rechargeable battery pack of some sort? Cut out some of the cords. Then you'd really be onto something.
