Have/Would you ever...
...pay a highway toll for the person behind you? I only go through a $1 toll twice a week when I visit my mom and I almost always pay for the person behind me (sometimes multiple people behind me). This is something I learned from my dad. He does it whenever he can as well. It doesn't seem to shock the toll booth workers in NH anymore, but you wouldn't believe the look of surprise I got when I did this while passing through a toll in IL. He couldn't believe I was paying a toll for someone I didn't know.
Have you or would you ever do this?

Re: Have/Would you ever...
Kudos to you. I think random acts of kindness are one of the best ways to let others know that they are part of something bigger and people do still care about people, even those they don't know. Have you ever paid for the person behind you in the drive through of a fast food restaurant? That's a good feeling.

Thankfully there are no tolls around where I live, so that would be a no. :p

I use a pike pass, but no. Even if I used change, I'm a college student and the price of the toll is enough to either get me a can of soda from a vending machine (water is more expensive than the soda!) or a snack from one of the machines.

if I had the change, and ever came across the toll, sure.
random act of kindness story. A friend of mine, was having lunch with her friend. She is about 4-5 months pregnant. This guy out of nowhere, paid for their entire bill, just because. He left, and never gave any info about himself, or asked for their numbers.
That's very nice of you to do that. Sometimes, that random act goes a long way in someone's day. It's amazing the "change" of events it will do positive for them.

I haven't done that before, but I think I will give it a try tomorrow when I get my coffee.

Lol, I suppose that would make it hard to do.

Yeah, I remember those days. Now that I am finished with college though I can justify spending $1 on someone I don't know.

That's pretty cool.
The reason my dad started paying for the people behind him is because someone did it for him once. It really surprised him that someone would pay the toll for a stranger and now he does it for other people.

I probably wouldnt bc i dont really like most people. I'll definetly consider it next time i go through a toll booth though. The only thing is down here theyre more expensive than $1. The GW is like $5 i think lol. I have bought a soldiers meal/coffee or whatever before and id readily do that again. Still a randomn/semi-randomn act of kindness and but i know im buying it for someone who really deserves it.

It's a Starbucks phenomenon as well. I've paid for the car behind me after seeing a friend of mine do it.
At one Starbucks, the lady told me that often each car after that will pass it on to the car after them.

I'm with ya there, I don't like Starbucks coffee at all. Blech. Ya,
$40 might get me 3/4 tank of gas, lol.
