hello new guy with adopted snake

Hello! I'm kris but most of my friends call me Krispy. I've owned lots of critters over the years but this is my first python. So. The story. I took her in and changed everything... The guy I got her from hardly ever fed her and never cleaned her tank... It was sad... I bought her the same day I met her.. I've had her for 3ish months now and her name is Shiva. She's about to shed for the first time (with me). I can tell she's happy now and she kinda seems greatful I took her in and spoil her to death lol. so. I can't figure out how to put pictures up yet but they're in my profile... Off to the stickies section with me so I can put up pics... Let me know what all of you think!

Congrats on picking her up. I like to put my pictures on photobucket, from there you copy the image code and paste that directly in your thread.

Not a fire, but she has a gorgeous pattern!

PS: You could probably feed her something a little bigger. Like something twice the size of the feeder in that feeding pic.

    Cool thanks!

She's has come a long way from being a little triangle girthed boney girl... She's almost 3 ft. And should be (according to previous owner) just over 2years old... She eats frozen medium mice... She gets one about every 4 days... I was told 2smaller meals every week is better than one large meal. (???). But this is from a reptile only dealer near me called The Enclosure (so so reputation, but all I got locally). She's been mite and parasite treated and gets a weekly skin contitioner (some kind of aloe I think??) She's my baby though. She always perks up when I walk past and goes straight to my hand and up my ARM when her tank is opened...

Good looking girl, she could handle a good size small rat with ease.

    She's a cutey!
Needs a small rat once a week, tho. My boy (about her size) would kill me if I only gave him a medium mouse, LMAO. XD So yes, small rat once a week does the trick.
Skin conditioner? Does she have skin issues? Looks healthy to me. I've never heard of a snake without issues having a weekly conditioner, lol. She probably doesn't need it, and depending on what it is, she might be better off without it.

I'm glad to hear of rescue stories with happy endings - always cheers me up! It's good to see her in a loving home. Good luck with her! ^.^

    P.S.
Much love for that enclosure - very nice!

Yes in one or tho you see the little bit of skin, I am open to any tips... Always learning yup! Lol and my youngest kitty, hehe curiosity may very well kill the cat!!! Lol nah it's just cute.
