    Tap water or purified water?

I have read a lot of caresheets for bps and I have seen a lot say only to use purified water as drinking water for a snake.

I was wondering what do you guys use tap or purified water?

I have been using purified because texas water is ver hard water and it has a lot of chlorine and lime in it. So i dont wanna risk it hurting my boy in any way.

Re: Tap water or purified water?

Here we have pretty hard water as well, but my pets and I have been drinking it for most of our lives, and we're all doing fine. I'd say, if your city water is fine for you to drink, it's probably fine for your pets.

unless you have exceptionally hard water, I wouldn't worry about it. any chlorine in tap water evaporates entirely after about an hour of sitting out, which is more time than my snakes need to muster the nerve to come drink it after I change it. I would love to be able to use reverse osmosis water, but I'd also like to be in the next tax bracket that would make that feasible in the first place.

It depends on how good the water quality is where you live. If it's good enough for you to drink, it's good enough for your snake.
