    Talking Weigh In

Ok,so I weighed my 3 girls today.Carmen and Phoenix are 119 grams, and Spinx is a whopping 138 grams.Didn't think Sphinx was THAT much bigger than the other 2,but it's all good. Are those good weights for my girls, seeing as they're about 5-6 weeks old?(They just ate an adult mouse Wednesday, and another adult mouse today).Hopefully they'll start packing on the weight soon,I can't wait to see how these girls grow over the months =)

Yes those weights are accurate. I always figure about 100 grams a month so they're pputting on good weight. Careful not to over feed them though. Some people power feed to put on weight so they can breed sooner (not saying your doing this) but this can cause adverse affects to the breeding devolopment. Obese snakes make horrible breeders. And somepeople say snakes will eat when they're hungry but they are opportunistic feeders they will eat if given food unless they're fasting for some reason. But I feed my girls twice a week too they eat like beasts. Id say your on a good schedule and they're gaining weight nicely!

Did you weigh them empty or full?

    Re: Weigh In

I weighed them empty, then fed them about an hour later.I don't have any intentions on breeding, but then again,I may reconsider in a few years.I figured they would only want to eat about once a week, but apparently not,2 of my girls are roaming about, but they usually do that after a feeding for about an hour before settling in their hides until the middle of the night. The most I would feed them is twice a week,so they don't become obese, and seeing as they're young and growing,so maybe 2 mice a week won't be a problem until they get a bit older.Idk,BP's are so goofy,my 3 girls have such distinct personalities, even when its time to eat.
