    I use distilled water for my humidifier and filtered drinking water like 88 cents at WalMart for a gallon. I think anything is fine. The chlorine in tap water will evaoprate out pretty quick. So unless your snake dives in as soon as you put the water in and starts guzzling I think its fine.
