    Need help with humidity

we originally made our own rack a year and a half ago. In May I purchased an animals plastic rack. And the tubs we had fit that rack. Now for the problem. Our original rack needed double the holes on the tubs because it would leave our humidity way too high for the bps (80s). But our new rack won't keep the humidity above 49 anymore with the amount of holes we have. To purchase the tubs all over again would cost us $100, which we don't really have to spend. If anyone can provide good suggestions to help us figure out how to cover up some of the holes without hurting our snakes I'd appreciate it. My boyfriend said to cover it with painters tape on one side (on the outside of the tub of course). What do you guys think? Thanks

You could try a different substrate like cypress mulch or coco-husk.
They retain humidity really well where I don't think you would have to cover holes.
