I saw that same episode at the same time you did. To be honest, I felt if anything, it was sort of helpful to showing the corruption against snakes, and how everyone is so stupid when it comes to how they treat these wonderful creatures like their some goblin.
For example, it shows the politicians trying to get votes by making snakes seem bad, and it shows the animal control people purposefully lying and scaring the children, while the snake owner, Hank, was sort of a victim.
However, I do think that Hank is absolute moron (and one of the problems in the herper world) for buying such a snake with no experience in the first place.
