Having just started to dabble in switching small snakes, I'd say let it get over 100g before willingly withholding food by only offering F/T.

What I've been doing is keeping the live feeder and trying F/T, when it is refused I feed live.

I'm pretty sure any size hatchling could take down a small adult mouse, just observe the process carefully.
