Starter morphs?
So I have been wanting to breed for a while now and i'm finally financially stable enough to start. I have a regular female shes about 5-6 pounds and i'm trying to find a good male to breed with her. I have somewhat of a limited budget but if I can find a good morph I could save up. What would you all recommend for a good starter morph?

I would say to get the best you can afford. You can go anywhere from a single gene(pastel or mojo for example) to the top end of multi-gene animals or anything between! The breeding part is the same no matter what you get, the end result is the question!
5.3 normals, 3.1 mojave, 2.4 pastels, 1.0 yellow belly, 1.1 cinnamon, 1.1 het pied, 1.0 pastel/yellowbelly
Also: Burmese, Retic, RTBs, kenyans, dumerils, hognose, corns, milk, king, uromastyx, leopard geckos, bearded dragons, dart frogs, tortoises, tarantulas, cockatiels, reef tanks, dogs, cats, chickens, goat, rats and???

I can do around $200-$300 just saving up right now so moneys a lil tight. So right now my extra spending money isnt that great, but I want to get started on getting morphs so if I could find a good starter I would be willing to pay a lil more.

Take a look at bumblebees for another 100 bucks or so and you could get a double gene male which would be a good start. Quality is going to be the key.

If I expanded my budget a lil bit what would you recommend for a good double gene to start?

What about pastel yellow bellies?
1.0 blond pastel lesser
1.0 mojave
0.1 pastel
0.1 normal

I would say Bumblebees, Pastel YB, Lemon Blast or maybe even a Lesser Pastel.

Good starter morphs....anything codom or dominate, their genetics are the easiest to understand and the easiest to reproduce.

I would buy a super pastel male. You breed it to your normal and youll get all pastels. Holdback an raise up the females etc. etc...
They go for like $400-500 usually
A pastel yellowbelly would be a good choice too. Idk exactly what the going rate for them is right now though.

I'd agree with the morphs that have been listed and would add just a few: fireflies (pastel x fire), vanilla mojave (vanilla x mojave), orange ghost mojave. The recessives are little more complex and a little more tedious in the breeding if you don't have two visual animals but some of the possibilities are stunning. The yellowbelly stuff looks like it's going to be hot in the coming years with the highway and puma stuff coming out. The vanilla is a subtle morph but makes a pretty cool super (as does the yellowbelly complex) and combined with a mojave makes some pretty cool animals (I'm a tad biased, as my vanilla mojave boy is one of my favorite animals, lol!). It crosses well with some of the more popular morphs (black pastel - brass ball, fire - vanilla cream, etc.). As has been said, QUALITY, even if it means saving a little more or putting off getting a new snake for a little while. Buy what you like and would be happy seeing pip out of eggs. Good luck and have fun!
