Herpstat 1 vs Hydrofarm - what's best for my situation?

I know this question has probably been asked a lot, but I can't seem to find what I'm looking for tonight (maybe I'm just blind?).
We have three 10G tanks, and one 28qt tub for our snakes right now. We were using Hydrofarms borrowed from my friend's mother who is big time into green housing, but they are moving so they need them back.

Can the Herpstat 1 run multiple UTH's or just one? If so, how many?
If it can't, which Herpstat can?
Or, instead, would it work out better just to buy four Hydrofarms?

We plan on moving to a rack ASAP, but that could be a while. What Herpstat would be the best for that? (preferably not the $400 one, if possible...)

I have the hydrofarms (not using them at the moment though) and Herpstats (couple 1's and a 2). . . They are all capable of pushing multiple UTH, but your main problem will be the fact that they will be semi-hard to regulate. . . because air exchange without the 10 gallon tanks may vary quite a bit pending on fans, etc, you can push 3 UTH on them at the same temp, but the cage temps may vary. If you have a room with a pretty stable temperature though, then you can get away with it with a minor sway in temperatures in the 3 cages. . . However, with the 32 quart tub you will need a separate t-stat because you will require a separate temperature setting (amount of power) going to the UTH. . .

With all that in mind, you can get a Herpstat 2 (runs two probes, 2 temps) for around 210 shipped, and use one side for the 3 tanks, and the other for the 1 tub, you could get 2 Hydrofarms (57 + tax on amazon) and use this, but keep in mind its not a dimming t-stat so it will be pushing power on and off in order to regulate it, giving a much greater sway in temperatures (think around 3-5 degrees above and below set range).

In the long run, you'll end up wanting a herpstat for your rack, you can save a few bucks and get a herpstat one and one Hydrofarm (I'd use the hydrofarm on the one tub and the herpstat on the 3) and then when you get your rack simply put the herpstat on your rack and use the hydrofarm as a safety perhaps. . .

    my two cents.

    Okay, thanks!
How would I hook up the Herpstat to the 3 different tanks? Do I plug a power strip into the herpstat, and then plug all the UTH's into that strip?

The herpstat nd(I have) has a power cord on it that you can plug 3 UTH into. Inthink the herpstat 1 has the same.I use it for my GTP tub. Everyone else is hooked up to my herpstat 4. IMHO I would spend the extra money and get a herpstat 4- 4 probes-4outlets, and can all be controlled to different temps based on what's needed. I plan in only buying herpstat 4 from now on, take up less room that 4 separate herpstats and can control 4 different temps at once.

herpstat 1 - 500 Watt output sufficient for most incubators, rack systems, enclosures, and vivariums. You would be fine with the herpstat 1.

The Herpstat 4 is just too far out of my budget right now. I'm a college student that still needs to buy textbooks for this semester
    I bought a Herpstat 1 and a Hydrofarm.
    Thanks for the help!
