Why can't I delete photos from my profile gallery

I keep trying to remove some of the photos from my profile gallery, I check the boxes and press delete and they just stay there.... any help please?

Click on the picture, on the right you will see Image Tools, open that menu and select edit image, and finally select delete this image.
