Yeah, I know they will lay year-round... but in everyone's experiences, does it seem they more often lay in spring (even if you pair early/late)? I haven't tested the theory myself, just going on what I've noticed from reading these forums.

I'm giving my guys and girls a few months off then back to work..But I've still got about 15-20 clutches in the incubator so I'm not even half way done hatching yet either...

Do you mess with temps at all if your breeding year round? Or do you just pair and lock all year?

The temp drop is unnecessary, as the will breed regardless. If you want to drop temp, you still can no prob...

Hotter temps while breeding have shown to reduce fertility in both males and females. While lower temps aren't needed for them to breed hey are needed for follicular development and proper sperm development in males. It's why gravid females will move off their heat during breeding and even lay on their backs to get the follicles as cool as possible. Just my two cents from the past years of breeding.

I have another question my little 500 gram male cant lock up right with the 5000 gram female he keep trying to lock with her middle section haha he hasnt figured it out honestly he just got licky the first time

I've had 500 gram guys lock up with some big ole girls.. he's still young so he may still get the drift but then again it might take him some time. keep trying and keep an eye on his health, little guys like that will try hard and get sick or die trying..
Here's a little 500 gram guy giving it the beans when he was just 6 months old.. that's a 3000 gram female

I breed when females don't eat for 2 weeks in a row..doesn't really matter when it is.
