Just got an acu-rite indoor/outdoor thermometer, where should I put the pieces.
So just like the title says, I just got the thermometer, where should I put it. I have the indoor thermometer in the back corner in the cool side, and I'm not sure where to put the outdoor probe at. I have aspen bedding and a heat lamp, if that makes any difference.

No belly heat?
The probe goes where the snake is, down low so you can read the temperature under the heat lamp.
I would lay it under the aspen and have the probe exposed under the heat source so it can read the temperature the snake is lay on.

I put the indoor part at the front so I can read the temps and humidity from outside of the tubs. The probe I kind of lay part way in the the back hide or on the aspen if the back to get an ambient temp

I have a tank and I put my accurite box in the back corner of the cool side. My temperature probe is on the hot spot under his hide. I have hot glued the probe to the glass and have it covered with about 1/4 in of aspen bedding. My probe is located on the glass bottom above where I have my UTH stickied on the underside of the tank. The wire is hot glued to the bottom of the tank under the aspen. The access wire is wrapped. The accurite housing box is stuck to the glass by using a small piece of velcro.
Hope that helps!! Good luck!

I have the indoor part just sitting up against he glass on the cool side. I like it because the snake knocks it over at night if he's out roaming while I sleep. So if it is knocked over when I check in the morning, I know he was out moving around.
