Something that is annoying me
This is something that keeps happening and I don't know if its normal or what?
when i use aspen bedding my ball burrows underneath the bedding on top of the uth (the uth is outside underneath the tank)
and when i use paper towels he seems to find a way underneath them too, so im just wondering if he burrows on to the uth will he get burned i have a thermostat it never gets hotter then 94/95F the surface temp is like 90.
because i don't know if its safe or not every time he does it i open the cage take him out etc... this happens about 5 times during the night... and when he has just eaten he decides to do it so i gently remove him, so is this normal or should i keep removing him?
Thanks a lot

They often burrow like you're talking about. You should be good with temps as long as the inside surface of your enclosure doesn't get over 90...
Lucifer Sam, Siam cat...

Always by your side...
That cat's something I can't explain...

As long as the measured temperature on the bottom of the enclosure is under 95 you have no need to move him.
A lot of my snakes hide under the paper towels, hiding is what they do and they are especially good at it, if anything you're stressing the snake out by moving it.

I know i am just madly protective of his health etc..
the thermometer reads like 91-92 sometimes it hits 93/94 this is rare the thermometer is under the paper towels,
when I use my temp gun the surface temp is like 86/7-90
but as long as nothing bad happens, does anybody know what temp they would start burning at?
Thanks

That seems fine temps to me.
And idk, not really sure what the flashpoint of a bp is lol.
I think that exposure to 115 degrees for an extended period of time can cause 1st degree burns for humans. Not positive though, so dont quote me.

He's fine, that temperature isn't too much. And you can generally trust the temp gun.
I have female snakes that push their aspen out of the way and nest right on top of the heat tape in their tubs. And both the males and females will hide under their paper if I use that instead. I've started folding the newsprint so they have a snug little fold they can crawl into. But sometimes all they really want is to just sit on the warm spot. They're like cats sleeping on computer monitors.
