    Hawaiin Vacation Pictures

Well, in case anyone out there noticed my silence on the forums over the past week and a half, I've been off to Maui, Hawaii spending some much needed relaxation time away from the job, while my critters stayed at home and the eggs incubated nice and clean. Thought some people may be interested in a little bit of photo work from there, so you can check out the set that will get updated most here:

Here are some of the images without doing link hopping :-)

Horseback riding into the Crater at Haleakala National Park.

    Hope you enjoyed!

    Cheers

I thought that looked like Haleakela. Been there a few times as a kid with my family. Beautiful place, would love to go back someday. Thanks for sharing your beautiful pictures.

Thanks Guys / Gals, Hawaii was a great get away, may have been one of my first real "vacations" in a few years. Most have been to get to a location to photograph birds or push summit hikes in the mountains, but this was definitely a leisure trip. Jap White eyes are crazy cool birds to photograph, and have a mighty impressive song. Definitely was one of the top birds of my trip. We ran into some Day Geckos but were unable to get to them quick enough. I'll have video of diving with the Sea Turtles soon enough.

Haleakala is a great place, and very unique. The long drive / longer day was well worth the effort, time, and money. I could not imagine a trip to Maui without going to the park, and at least going up the smaller peaks. The brave / enduring can try to do the 8 mile Sliding Sands trail, but the elevation gain will test you!
