Technically bucket herping...
At my local hardware store, one of the guys had a bucket with these little guys in it. He said they are hatchling black racers, he hatched them and they are going into the woods this evening.
I am "assuming" that he found the eggs actually, so wild eggs that the babies belong in the wild. They haven't been kept "as pets" or anything. Just hatched and I guess ready to be released now. So I snapped a quick picture since I'd never seen wild baby snakes exactly like these.

Yeah, see I didn't think they looked like hatchling southern black racers.... more like NORTHERN black racers which made me a little confused.

Very cool. Definitely racers but I've only dealt with eastern racers in KS, Coluber constrictor. Thanks for sharing!
