    Raising Ambient Temperatures?

Alright, so my room sits around 75 degrees. How can I get it up? I closed my AC vent, so we'll see how much that helps, but if not enough, what else can I do without a space heater?

Alright, I've managed to bring it up to around 77-78, and the hotspot finally got to 90 now that I set the thermostat to 100. Now I have to bring humidity down. It's at 67% right now. Can anyone help me here??

Where is your thermometer and your thermostat probe that you need to keep it set so high?

    Your humidity is fine.

What are you using to heat the enclosure? It shouldn't be that difficult to get the temps up unless you have a tank. If you have a tank, you may need to use a UTH and a heat lamp.

I'm using a ZooMed UTH, and it is directly underneath the tub. The probe for the thermostat is in the middle of it. The probe for the thermometer is INSIDE the cage under a layer of paper towel. I'm using a heat lamp raised above the enclosure to try and bring the humidity down.

Alright, now the humidity went up to 75. The temperatures are fine, but now the humidity is too high. Is there anything I can do to fix this? Sorry for the double post.

The first question is what is the humidity (RH) in the room? if your room is at 75% the tub is going to be anyway. If your tub is higher than the room you need more ventilation, and a smaller water bowl. I use a simple rule of thumb with RH and ventilation. With paper substrate if you remove the water bowl the RH in the tub and RH in the room should be the same in one hour or less. This represents one air change per hour at the least, personally that to my mind is a minimum.

Alright, I just soldered in some new holes. We'll see how that works. If that doesn't work, then Ill replace the water dish with a smaller one.

Okay! So soldering new holes did not help. The humidity will drop to 50% percent when I take the water dish out, but it bumps up to 60 percent when i put the water in. What do I do? Is 60 okay? I would feel a lot safer if it stayed mid-50's.
