Three 50% Poss. Het. Ghost Babies. Worth it?

Hello everybody, Im working on getting some good Balls together so I can go strong my first year of breeding. As of now, I have A male spider, and two normal Females.

I found a guy on craigslist, whose trying to sell 2.1 50% Poss. Het Ghost Ball Python Hatchlings. The boys have shed but not the girl, and none have eaten yet. He's selling them for 20 dollers each, or 50 for all three.

I feel like I have a pretty decent chance of them having the ghost gene, and worst case scenario, I could always use the female to make more codoms, but Im trying to decide if theyre worth trying to prove out. I can spend $50, and If proved out each snake would double in value. And with a few years I could wind up with some consistantly producing ghosts, and possibly ghost spiders. Or this could completely flop, I have bad luck and none of the three prove out, landing me with a ton of normals that would be difficult to move, and greatly disappointing me because I sank years into a maybe. I would of course have other projects going to too, the het ghosts becoming somewhat of a background experiment. But my first year Im probably going to be scrambling to get an incubator the size I would need in time, and Im afraid to not be picky enough with the clutches I do produce.

What do you guys think? Possibly a good investment? Too flimsy to be worth my time?

    Not a good investment

1# It's from craiglist really the last place I would buy hets from or possible hets.
2# It's a reverse trio which mean you are really waisting money and time on an extra male when you need either 1.1 or 1.2
3# You can get a pair of 100% het hypo for $150 it will save you time and heartache especially if your trio does not prove.

Buying 2.1 means you need to raise them up count 2 to 3 years for the female, than you breed them, if you do not hatch any visual it might mean a few things

1# Bad odds try again next year
2# One or both are normals try again next year as well

It could take you YEARS 3 to 5 years min to hatch a visual if you even hatch one when hypo males are only $150 and female about $250 so ask yourself the question is all that time raising up, feeding and breeding animals really worth it?

Yeah.. That sounds like the worst idea ive had all year XDD. I swear trying to be frugal puts on insane blinders. Might as well just buy a pair outright. Id get the genetic guarantee, and wouldnt have to deal with any health problems they may have to boot.(I havent gotten a snake of craigslist that was on deaths door, or infected with something @_@)

If it sounds too good to be true, it probably is.

In this case, it doesn't even sound good.

    Elaborate please?

I suppose what I meant to say is I wouldn't PURPOSELY buy a poss. het of a morph that I was hoping to produce in the future. It's not that much more to buy a 100% het. so why not just drop the extra cash and get what you want.

Thats better. There are plenty of "possible" hets out there for next to nothing. I just sold a pair of possible albinos, I made VERY clear that they are possible and were from a het to het pairing.
There are a bunch of "little guys" up and coming that are gambling on het to het pairings that will produce a ton of possibles.
Its more of how much do you feel you can trust the person you are purchasing from? I could sell you a pair of 100% het ????? on a claim and you still cant prove they are or arnt for 2 to 3 years

I try and avoid poss hets too. If its a bonus that fits into my plans, then sure knowing that in the back of my head its a possibility is cool, but i wouldnt go out of my way killing myself to try and prove it out haha. Most 100% hets are cheap enough so i would just spend the extra money to buy one of them.
