    Hissing

Why might my bps be hissing at me? Husbandry: tubs, ap rack, 90 hot spot, 78 ambient, 55-60% humidity, water bowl, paper towel substrate, RBI hide (i know they don't need it but they like them). They only hiss when I pick them up sometimes, but never strike or wriggle a lot. Just a hiss and they're done. It kind of makes me giggle but wondering if there's something else going on?

I can't say there is nothing wrong but sounds good so far. Something you just got something you need to say, you know? We have one boy who will just randomly hiss, no reason we can find, he just wants to hear himself I guess?

Whenever mine is in her rock hide under the moss she will give a little hiss when I open it. I think it's kinda like when you are woke up and you don't want to be. I know I hiss when that happens. Sounds normal to me.

Because your BP doesn't love you, it just tolerates you.

Mine only do that when they're at some stage of shedding.

It's feeling cranky to day and doesn't want to be bothered.

My Pinstripe hisses at me every time I touch him. Like people say snakes dont get attached to you like a dog or cat would. They learn to tolerate you. My Pinstripe hisses at me because he was never taught to tolerate he was just bred, fed and sold at a expo with no handling. Handling it maybe 5 minutes a day for a week then 10 minutes a day the next and just keep going until it learns you are not a threat.

If it does hiss at you when you go to handle it dont back off and give up. Go in there and scoop the little bugger out and handle it. It may be a snake but dominance still is at play and you picking him up and proving to him that you are the dominate one and not a risk he will calm down and stop hissing.

If you get bit you get bit. Dont let it stop you.

Maybe use paper instead of paper towels a little safer, hissing happens no biggy, try a hot spot at 92 cool around 80 82. Just a little more comfort for it.
