    Nicotine cravings...

I quit about two years ago and still have cravings from time to time... Especially right now with my wedding coming up and all the planning and money stress associated with that. Smoking definitely wouldn't help anything and would just make money tighter but I can't help but miss it sometimes.

Anyone else that's quit ever have these problems?

Focus on the fact that you're rationalizing an irrational craving. You're trying to convince yourself that it's ok to smoke again. Remember.. don't think about how much longer you have to not smoke, just focus on not having a smoke during a craving, distract yourself with something else. One tiny step at a time, even two years after quitting. I believe you can do it Also, congrats on the upcoming wedding

Yeah, mostly when I'm super stressed, driving or have had too much to drink. I just try to push through it or find something else to relieve stress or think about.

    Re: Nicotine cravings...

I quit October 19, 1989. Every once in a while someone will light up near me and I get that first drag smell. It never goes away. All I can tell you is if I had a cigarette today, I would be a full blown smoker again tomorrow. It makes me really empathetic towards alcoholics and drug addicts because I know.

The only advice I can give is don't have one. Every day you don't have a cigarrette your are a non smoker. That sounds obvious, but that's what it is.

Stay strong and congratulations on your up coming marriage.

Thanks for the support guys, and the congats =P

yeah, I think if I smoked one I would have to start all over again. I was talking to my grandma about it, she quit 40 years ago. She said that every time she goes in a gas station and sees them she wants to buy a pack... 40 years later lol I guess that's what we get for starting in the first place =/

Whenever you think about smoking punch yourself in the face so that way your body will associate the thought of cigarettes with pain. LMFAO

Ive never smoked before. I kinda wish i knew what it was like to be addicted to something like that.

    Re: Nicotine cravings...

I've never smoked and I am SO glad I never tried it, I've seen so many people suffer with these same problems.

I have known quite a few people who use the E-cigs. My boyfriend actually used the E-cig to quit smoking 2 years ago and now he very rarely even 'smokes' that but when he does get a craving he'll puff on that for a bit. Idk if that would help you but they're pretty cool. Maybe look into those? They can give you a similar feeling to smoking and you can get them with or without nicotine or in various levels of nicotine and you actually are exhaling something that looks and feels like smoke but it's vapor and they don't have all the carcinogens and tar real cigs have. I have been told that a lot of the disposable ones in gas stations are very harsh so look around and check out a few if you're interested. You can also puff on them anywhere since there's no smoke so you can be in a store or the movie theaters or wherever.

Good luck either way and congrats on the wedding.

No you don't lol believe me addiction is no fun.
I've tried quitting smoking several times and they all ended in failure.
One of these days though I'll get it done.
