there's a guy on youtube who says he breeds hognoses
and I asked him if he had any available he said yes het albino hatchlings
he was supposed to ship over 2 weeks ago
but when shipping day came around he texted me and told me his sister went into labor and that he couldn't ship

which I'm understanding, I know how stuff can happen and I believed him
so next scheduled shipping day came around and he said the fedex closed
once again I tried to be understanding I know that stuff happens but I was a little bit suspicious

he supposed to ship again tomorrow texted me again telling me he couldn't because of the heat

which once again is a reasonable excuse but I don't know if it's just something he can easily use now because it's super hot

I believe him and then the other side of me doesn't. I'm confused on what to do, what do you guys think

I think I would be leary at this point. He has your money I assume? The fed ex closing sounds a bit hoaky. Heat I can understand, but one excuse after another?

Smells funny to me. If he has done this before I would think he would know the Fedex hours. Seems like he would not be showing up to Fedex at closing to send a live animal overnight, Im sure that if it was me I would send them bright and early so they would for sure make it overnight.

If he doesnt ship this next time and send you a tracking code I would get my money back.

That depends on how he is shipping it. What he is shipping it in, and wether he uses heat or cold packs. He should be using an insulated box and maybe a cold pack depending where he is. If it is above 100 there or at you most people will not ship.

i don't know what a hognose's temps should be but when i got my ciny male shipped last month the breeder didn't put a heat pack in it, but did write "keep at room temp" on the outside of the box.

Most will use a heat pack below 70, nothing for 70 to 90ish, and a cool pack from 90ish to 100. But everyone can be different and ship using differnet methods and materials. It also depends on what shipper you go with, some have their own rules and regs.

Ask him what temps he goes by and how he is shipping it. It may prove to you that he is a scammer.
