Got this little girl today.





She's sweet, adorable and I love her already but she's so tiny!

I've never bought a BP this young before.

She's one month old and has been eating live fuzzies.

I bought F/T fuzzies hoping she'll eat them.

All of you who are breeders and deal with babies all the time....are they tougher than they look at this age/size?

She just seems so impossibly fragile and delicate.

We have only bought one as an adult, so it is amazing when they are this small. I think the smallest we have got though was 80 something grams. They grow fast though. If she is that small, I would feed what she is used to until she has gained some weight, then try to switch her. Congrats on your baby!!

I got a month old cinnie but she was 140 grams! But she was a total B word too! As long as your husbandry is good she will be fine!

Ew.

I'm gonna hate feeding little bitty baby live mice!

My rodent supplier isn't open until Tuesday so I have to wait until then to get them anyway.

I thought my petco mutt Iggy was 'tiny' at 126 grams.

She was snakezilla compared to this little worm...

[and she's shot up to over 1000 grams since last October!]

Kelly's gotta be the weight gain record holder, though.

She weighed 134 grams on 12/10/11 and is now almost 900 grams.

I can't believe how fast she's growing!

[is there such a thing as a genetic growth rate "tendency"? she's being fed normally but just keeps growing!]

They aren't nearly as fragile as you think. And no, you won't "break" her. She may or may not take the f/t, do try them, but be patient with her and don't let her go too long without a meal. What is she? She looks kinds of fireish or maybe vanillaish?

Mosby, my Kobylka het Clown is a complete jerk!

He lays in his tub...just watching me, all 's-shaped' and waiting for me to open the tub.
He's never struck but he does a really great impression of an angry rattle snake....

He's a good eater though so I guess I can't complain....too much.

She's a pretty little Fire.

Photos just don't do her bright gold justice.

I picked her over her sister because of her 'oopmh' factor and her gloriously bright and long tail stripe.

Her name is "7" because there are marks on her side that look like sevens.

She's a spunky little thing....she's already checked out every inch of her new home and loves her hide.

[kinda of hard to cuddle though...she's really fast and "adventurous"]

I had her and her sister on the display case, just examining them to see which I'd buy and her sister just sat there, balled up but she was actually straining her little body towards me the whole time.
Eventually she got a grip on my t shirt and zoomed up into my hair and wouldn't come out.

I think *I* got 'picked".

Dumb question time:

I've never fed live fuzzies....do I 'zombie dance' the F/T fuzzies or just hold them in front of her?

Live fuzzies don't seem to move very much, except for wobbling around aimlessly when their mom gets up and goes out of reach.

I got my albino at just a few weeks old and he was 53 grams. He took a f/t pinky rat for me first try. He hasn't missed a meal, even in shed. He's close to 400g now and he will gladly accept an extra rat from anyone who didn't feel like eating that week. Give her a full week to settle in and then try to feed. She is gorgeous by the way! Congrats!
