Is anybody awake?
my big girl has had a suck tail shed for a while now, while i was holding her, it fell off. NOT GOOD!!. she started bleeding, so i put some triple antibiotics on it and so far it has stopped. the stuck shed has been there since i got her in May and has slowly been getting better. it looks like there is a little bone showing but i cant tell.
Whta should i do?

Stop using cream, and get some betadine... betadine is much safer to use long term.
a vet trip may be necessary to get some stronger antibiotics.
can you post a picture?

The biggest concern is to stop/prevent any infection from spreading. It is a similar situation to humans with Gangrene there is a potential for this to spread upwards and can become a major issue. This is why I say that a vet trip is a good idea.

Until you can get a vet appointment, I'd suggest a diluted solution of betadine. Creams will just cause more issues.

It doesnt look that bad the more time goes by. I will still get her to the vet. Its not bleeding anymore, so thats good i guess.

Any oil based cream can cause the scales to turn into a mush and fall off... betadine (watered down iodine) is much safer to use long term

Sorry, but this is the attitude that got your snake in this condition in the first place. You should have never let the stuck tail shed go for as long as you did. By the looks of it, the stuck shed constricted the blood flow and caused necrosis of the tissue in the tip of the tail. This is exactly why I get far more concerned with stuck shed around the tail than with a stuck eye cap.

I do agree. However, this girl was a rescue, i did not have anything to do with why the shed got stuck to begin with. I have been doing what i can to make it better. None of my other snakes have problems like this. And i wont let it happen. The stuck shed looked like it had been there for a few months Before i got her. The neglect had nothing to do with me.
now that we got that out of the way, im just looking for advise as to what i might be looking at here. Gonna take her to the vet, just wanna know if anybody else has had to deal with this, and what they did to treat it
