Shipping Snakes

So I was wondering If I could get some info on shipping snakes, I may be selling one of mine soon and I was wondering if I should use a heat pack during this time of year? Also I live in Washington (the state not DC) so I was wondering if maybe my location would make a difference of whether or not I would need a heat pack. I know how to pack the box and everything I've watched a few videos on that but I don't want to ship my snake and over heat it or make it to cold and then have it die Thanks guys!

At this time of year you probably don't need a heat pack. Check the overnight lows in the sending and receiving location. If they are under 70*, which they shouldn't be this time of year, then you could use a heat pack. If the low is like 68* I wouldn't use a heat pack.

I would suggest you to go on SYR reptiles you will find all the info you need regarding proper shipping, when to use heat pack or cold pack.

The boxes I use are 12 x 9 x 6 mainly with 1/2 inch foam inserts, bag are 8x12, Heat Pack (when needed) are 40 hours

I'm just going to throw this out there, but I don't think going through the shipping ordeal is worth the worry and the hassle unless it's something you're going to do regularly (running a business). My experiences shipping to rehome pets have been incredibly stressful, and not something I would want to repeat. Breeders eventually come up with a system for getting it done efficiently, but as a one-time thing... Not worth it IMO.
