I would just buy a pvc one from a place like animal plastics. You can get three and stack them all right on top of eachother.

    Re: tanks

Yeah I would recommend a prebuild PVC cage or a rack for multiple snakes, but if you are wanting to build your own go to your local hardware store and get some melamine and plexiglass, and with a little tool knowledge you could get one built relatively simple.

I'd go with the PVC tanks, personally. They hold heat/humidity very well, are built like...welll...tanks! and the folks at Animal Plastics are great to deal with and their products are top-notch if you elect to buy from them. You could maybe build some cheaper if you went to the hardware store but were it me, I'd buy them pre-made. I can only speak for Animal Plastics as they're the only ones I've bought but they're quality units, they hold up and would be easier to clean and maintain than what a melamine one would be plus they could be stacked and easily moved in terms of their weight versus a melamine unit. I have three racks from them and will be buying tanks in the future when I get my Gila monster(s). As far as dimensions if you're dead set on building your own look at the dimensions for the 30 or 40 gallon breeder tanks and go from there, depending on how old your animals are. I wouldn't put hatchlings in tanks that size, were it me but whatever works for you...

Compare the price of a PVC cage to a similarly sized glass tank... You will find that they are very similar. Sure racks are more cost efficient, but not everybody has 30 snakes.

You get what you pay for. PVC cages hold in heat and humidity extremely well and can easily create an environment vastly different than the room they are in, without any issues caused by heat/humidity. No other caging solution on the market can do that.
