Fedex says my snake should be here by 4:30 pm tomorrow?!?!?!?!?!?!?!
I ordered a snake a while ago and it was shipped today... the tracking number says the estimated time is 4:30 pm tomorrow? That seems like a very long time for the snake to sit in the back of the vehicle.

I had a ball python shipped to me and it said the same thing. But it arrived to me around 2:30. The snake was perfectly fine when he arrived to me.

Taken from the Ship You Reptiles FAQ's:
For most addresses, your Priority Overnight package will arrive by 10:30 a.m. Tuesday through Friday.
Note: In some outlying areas, Priority Overnight packages are delivered by noon. In farther outlying areas, Priority Overnight packages are delivered by the end of the day.
To check the expected or guaranteed delivery time for your destination, go to the FedEx Rates & Transit Tool and enter the Ship From and Ship To ZIP codes, choose a shipping date, enter a package weight then click on the “Get quick quote” button.
Guaranteed delivery times for Priority Overnight are determined by a three-tiered system established by FedEx. Zip codes that are categorized by FedEx as urban, rural or remote will receive deliveries by 10:30 a.m., noon or 4:30 p.m. respectively. Check the expected delivery time for your destination at FedEx Get Rates and Transit Times.
The tracking is just saying it is scheduled to be delivered by 4:30 pm. After that it is considered late.

If you live off the beaten path, then the 4:30 pm mark isn't uncommon. Usually they arrive before then, but it's sort of a CYA effort on Fedex's part for customers who on less-traveled routes. Another reason why it makes sense to have your snake held for pick-up at the FedEx hub, and you go to get it instead of having it come to you, especially in the summer heat.

If you live far out delivery can be as late as 4.30 even with overnight priority which is why I recommend customers who do live far out in the country to have the package held at the hub for pick-up.

FedEx delivery to MOST addresses is by 10:30am, but it is always important to be familiar with the Guaranteed Time for YOUR address when receiving a package. There are links at ShipYourReptiles Get Help section, as well as FedEx.com, that will help you find your specific delivery time, according to zip code, as Adam posted above.
